When you work in the oft-times chaotic, “hurry-up and wait” world of writing copy for marketing and technical publications, you find that your life becomes something resembling a roller coaster. You yawn through the wait at the station while the car fills up. You scoot to the edge of your seat preparing to get started on the real fun as the coaster slowly climbs that first hill. And then, with your heart practically bursting form your chest, you scream your way through that first corkscrew as everything you thought you had figured out is tossed out the window and you are plunged into darkness. When you pop out of the tunnel you think you’re ready again, but the coaster turns right when you were sure the track went left. After the first lap around the track you are into the swing of things and really sailing. But then, the car stops at the station, everyone gets off and you get ready for the next ride.
